ISTE student chapter
The Indian Society for Technical Education is a national, professional, non-profit making Society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. First started in 1941 as the Association of Principals of Technical institutions (ATPI), it was converted into “Indian Society for Technical Education” in 1968 with a view to enlarge its activities to advance the cause of technological education.
The major objective of the ISTE student’s chapter is to provide guidance and training to students to develop better learning skills and personality.

ENGINEERS' DAY 2023
On September 15 every year in India, Engineers’ Day is celebrated, remembering the birthday of one of the greatest engineers in India Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya, popularly known as Sir MV. This was 55th anniversary of the Engineers Day in India and 162nd birth anniversary of Sir M. Visvesvaraya. On this auspicious event, Jorhat Engineering College ISTE Student’s chapter organized several events on 15th September 2023. The ISTE students’ chapter released the 2023 edition of the technical wall magazine followed by two competitions to be participated by the students of Jorhat Engineering College. The events were a grand success as many participants turned up to participate in the various events.
ISTE ROBOTICS WORKSHOP 2023
On August 26th and 27th, ISTE JEC Student’s Chapter hosted a 2 days robotics workshop which was followed by a bot building competition for the students who participated in the workshop, to test their understanding and skills.

- How to prepare for end semester exams : This was held on 17th July 2022 in online platform.
- ISTE – JEC Tiranga Contest : This was held on 15 August 2022 in the ISTE- JEC Facebook Page.
- Technical Wall Magazine Release: This was held on 15 September 2022 (i.e., Engineers Day Celebration) in association with JEC Alumni Association in the College Auditorium.
- Innovative Lifting Machine Competition: This was held on 15 September 2022 in offline medium.
- Egg Drop Test Competition: This was held on 15 September 2022 in offline medium.
